PATHOS
PATHOS

Can't Forget

Racking my brain with painful confusion,
you've put me in turmoil without conclusion;
making me happy, then sad,
turning me gloomy, then glad.
Every path, it seems, I take,
my heart can't help but break,
because I end up staring at you,
always feeling blue,
when you want me to go anywhere,
just as long as you're not there.
It hurts every time I learn
that without you I burn,
and yet I always know
without me you can go
on,
gone,
leaving me here
to shed a tear,
or maybe two.
I can't forget you.
