PRECEDENCE ENTERTAINMENT AND DEL REY BOOKS ENTER INTO CROSS MARKETING
AGREEMENT FOR BABYLON 5 PRODUCTS

(Tempe, Arizona)  Precedence Entertainment, producers of the internationally
popular Babylon 5 Collectible Card Game, and Del Rey Books, publishers of
widely read novels based in the Babylon 5 universe, have entered into a
cross-marketing agreement that will bring more Babylon 5 excitement to
science fiction and CCG fans.

The cross-marketing plan, arranged at GenCon '99, will enable fans who buy
the Del Rey Babylon 5 novels to mail into Precedence for a special
promotional card, completely tournament legal in the CCG.  The mail-in
coupon
will be in the back of forthcoming B5 novels. New B5 CCG expansion sets will
include cards featuring characters from the books specially designed in
conjunction with Del Rey.

The first card offer will be in "The Long Night of Centauri Prime", by Peter
David, scheduled for December release.  "The Long Night of Centauri Prime"
is
the first of a series of three books by David, exploring the politics and
social intricacies of Centauri Prime, and will feature the character of
Londo
Mollari.  David is a prolific writer whose body of work includes novels,
comics, movies and television, including scripts and novelizations of
Babylon
5 episodes.

The Babylon 5 Collectible Card Game, which debuted in 1997, has gained
popularity with fans of the acclaimed television series, as well as
customizable card game fans, for its accurate reflection of the show's
themes
and characters.  Severed Dreams, the forthcoming expansion set, will be
available in September, and features cards autographed by Michael O'Hare
(Commander Sinclair), Bill Mumy (Lennier), and Maggie Egan (Jane).  Future
sets include Wheel of Fire, and the eagerly anticipated CRUSADE expansion.

"The greatest challenge today in marketing is to cut through the clutter and
connect a consumer with the product she/he wants to have," says Del Rey
Associate Publisher Kuo-Yu Liang.  "Therefore the opportunity to work with
Precedence and their marketing-savvy team is a dream.  Together we shall
work
toward the goal of introducing the wonderful universe of Babylon 5 to
readers
and gamers everywhere."
