Dear Mr. Stephenson, Attorney,

I called the number you listed for the Superior Court. It would appear that
this is the court system of Halifax County. The North Carolina DMV already
informed me that the actual administration of the original citation was a
matter for the Halifax County Courthouse, and the number you listed below
would seem to validate that claim on their behalf. Therefore, unless you are
telling me that this is a State run court rather than a county court and
that it simply happens to be found within the borders of Halifax County, you
are not telling me the truth for some reason or other.

Your county may or may not have any jurisdiction over motor vehicle laws,
but it would appear that it is your county legal system that was to handle
the payment of the traffic violation, and that they misplaced it. If you are
asserting that your legal system never, ever, under any circumstances, has
ever made any mistakes whatsoever... well, congratulations. You know that is
not true however, and in this case your system has made a mistake. You may
have a greater grasp of the legal implications of everything here, but you
do not appear to have the passion of someone who has legitimately been
damaged by "the system" and I assure you that I will continue to pursue this
matter in every legal fashion that I can until Halifax County clears my name
and admits their mistake and gives me the money back that I have had to send
a Second Time in order to make sure that this matter is resolved quickly
enough that my Georgia state license is not cancelled due to some
incompetent bureaucratic oversights on your county and state's parts. I am
greatly concerned that if you can do this once, that you will simply
continue to do it again in another ten years, and I feel very sorry for what
must be countless other poor souls who have suffered similar bureaucratic
abuse.

I am sure that the lady who answered the phone at your Superior Court and
asked me if I had a receipt to prove that I had paid this ticket could not
possibly have kept a straight face. Who keeps stuff like that ten years?
Apparently not even your county and state governments. Besides she even told
me that they would not have sent me a receipt anyway, so why exactly would
she ask. As payment is in money order form or cash only, that means that
neither I nor anyone your court has systematically screwed will ever be able
to produce a receipt to prove their case. How convenient, especially since
it is actually the burden of proof for the state, not their helpless
victims, apparently except in the backwaters of North Carolina.

I thank you for answering my email, but it would seem that you did so more
out of a concern for keeping others from having to do their jobs than any
effort to actually help me. Your request to refrain from contacting Halifax
county employees cannot be met when I still need their help in ironing out
the problems that they have caused. In fact, I have been busily forwarding
their addresses to my friends and associates in the hopes that if enough
people help me out you will have to act in the fashion that is just and
proper. My list of contacted people may have been a bit broad, but that
stems from a lack of knowlege of who the proper people to actually do
something about it rather than pass me around like a bit of red tape paper
might be. If you have any desire to aid in the process, it would be greatly
appreciated.

I ask again, is the Superior Court simply a structure residing within
Halifax County that is in no way a part of your county government or is you
assertion that Halifax County is not involved false?

Furthermore, as would any honest person, I resent your "if you paid your
ticket off" statement. You do not know me sir, and you have no reason to try
to call me a liar, excepting I suppose a general lack of respect for normal
people.
