Sublime Dime
by Conrad Hubbard

I am so cheap on myself see
I've still got clothes I wore in 1983
but girl I am so rich when you are free
I'm still paying bills from last time you
needed me,
hanging with you is like doing
lines of coke
you make me crazy high
and leave me down and broke
I've been there for you in sickness
and in health
hell I've been there when you
weren't there for yourself
but you just fold up my next rhyme,
drop it in the stack you've collected
over time,
and with a look that is simply sublime
borrow for the cigarette
machine my very last dime.
