Sometimes Peace
by Conrad Hubbard

Sometimes you bring a peace to my soul
sometimes you tear me a gaping hole
your quicksilver smile engages me
with dreams for all eternity
you just spend the days as you are
and I trail you like a burning star
my nights whisper endlessly
of promises I wish you would give to me
of hopes and dreams made impure
by love and lust without cure
your every smile the loving tease
that breaks my heart with greatest ease
I am consumed with helpless desire
I am ravaged by your beauty's fire
I drown inside your endless eyes
I cry out for your shackled thighs
I feel as though I live the cries
that call to me from your forlorn sighs.
