Methinks
by Conrad Hubbard

Methinks the lady doth protest too much
how can you ignore my love and such
in me you have found a willing slave
a being bound to whatever you crave
my world has never been so bright
as the times I held you through the night
I cannot promise forever
but I would give you my life
and my soul is yours my lover
for I pray you would be my wife
in the times that loom ahead
I would stand your pains instead
my love for you is fierce indeed
it hunts forever with all due speed.
