I took my wife's wedding gown down to Goodwill today
I held onto it too long now you might say
I thought of a few things to do with that dress
before she took off and left me a mess
I remember that gown on our wedding night
I wanted her to wear it while we broke it in right
but she wanted to keep it clean, pure and white
saving it for a future blazing so bright
she wanted to save it and give it away
to her child, I guess, on her wedding day
Now I've thought of a lot of things to do with that dress
since that day she left me in such a mess
there was of course a strong desire
to take it and set it on fire
and then there were the drunken plans
involving a stripper, that dress and a dance
so then I sought someone I knew who wanted it
but in one way or another it would not fit
I took that gown down to Goodwill today
and I hope it brings someone else a happy wedding day.
