Dear Master Goldman, 

 In the solar year since our last communication, I regret to inform you that our efforts have yielded minimal results.  I beseech patience as well as mercy for our slow start in this savage land.  To you, I send my greatest admiration for the serene, and efficient lodge you have erected in Tampa.  I assure you that Miami is no such place.  Upon arrival there were practically no signs of the traditions.  I have since discovered a small outpost of Electro-engineers.  They are seemingly unaware of the existence of a nearby nexus.  They are also unaware of our agenda.  Their reclusion has resulted in a very odd breed of eccentricity.  Of their agenda, I could not fathom, but I can only assume that it is irrelevant.  My search also found evidence of a witches coven.  Implements of agrarian worship were discovered in the Everglades national park.  I investigated the sight and found fluctuations in the strength of the local gauntlet.  The magi themselves have thus far eluded me.   
 Unfortunately, there have been countless obstacles barring us from our objective.  Whereas Provost and Judge Brighton has uncovered our most useful leads, he has also been the  most conspicuous.

I would be remiss in my duties were I not to mention that voodoo magic is rampant here. The practition of its rituals by mundanes and Gifted alike is so common that the local police have a task force dedicated solely to cleaning up the remains every morning. As is normal to such practices it seems that the vast majority is but the unpracticed meddling of the incompetent. It seems that there are forces at work that draw their power from the arts of voodoo, however. I suspect the Death Mages have their hand in it, though there is evidence that vampires are involved. My predominant reason for mentioning this is that I believe that this may be somehow connected to the Serpent shown in our auguries. I am not yet certain of details, but it appears that some sort of magical society bears the snake as its totem. There has as yet been no sign of the Lion, though.

We have discovered an odd talisman of the local magical traditions that seems strangely attuned to the auguries. It seems to be an enchanted human heart, and further study is certainly necessary. I wondered if I might prevail upon you to loan me any texts you might think properly disposed to such study. Given that Leo is the sign of the heart, and the planet Jupiter is the sphere of the heart, and given Jupiter's residence in Leo around the end of the millennium, this may prove a most remarkable correspondence.

As the events forecast by the stars come to pass and be understood more quickly every day, I promise I shall not wait so long to report to you again. It seems that the times spoken by your charts are upon us.
