FORAY Roleplaying Journal

A choose your own adventure set in the
Of Gods And Men game universe
By Jeffrey Konkol

This month, Foray wants to bring you another type of online entertainment.  Jeffrey Konkol has written an adventure of the sort you used to read in those books that said to turn to such and such a page to discover what happens next based upon your decisions.  The internet environment seems even more suited for this type of story than a paper copy where you could accidentally chance upon the wrong page and ruin the story.  Try it out and see what you think.

You feel the strength drain from your body as you finally allow yourself to collapse. You have been running for what seems like days. Ever since you saw that look in her eyes. That look that told you that everything you had shared with her was meaningless in the face of her master's wishes and her own lust for power. It was all about power.

The tree at your back is gnarled, and many of its knots and imperfections dig into your body. Still, it is good to rest, even if but for a moment. The rain, which has been falling for most of the day, is beginning to break into scattered patches of drizzle, and you know that the air will soon be dry once again. No matter, the ground will remain soft for quite some time. They will have an easy time tracking you.
It could not have taken them long to find the charred remains of Kira's body. Shortly after, the necromancers would have likely been speaking to her soul. And then the hunt would begin, just as many other hunts had begun in the past. But this time, you are the hunted.

You can feel sleep overtaking you. You know that sleeping now might give the hunters the time they will need to find you, but you also know that you are tired and almost completely barren of magical energy. Without the power to cast spells, you stand little chance of defending yourself against anything.
