Voted! November 4, 2008

It is 8:35 AM. I am back home after managing to get to my polling booth at about 6:20 this morning. It took about 2 hours to get through the line, although the poll didn’t actually open until 7:00 and the line was shorter when I left than it was when I got there. Now, the wait to see the results tonight… Anyway, time to get ready for work.

I didn’t get to my polling place until about 9:30am, ended up getting out around 11:45am. Line was also shorter when I left than when I arrived — seems like 2 hours in the Atlanta area was pretty standard.

It seems like 2 hours was pretty standard on election morning. However, every story I have heard from people who voted late in the afternoon or in the early evening has been a tale of going through the process in 5 to 15 minutes. I am still glad I got it done early, since I kept it from cutting into work time and it was so hard to predict.
