Violating the Constitution or Talking Big? September 25, 2008

In a recent interview with Katie Couric, the Republican Vice Presidential candidate suggested that she had foreign relations with Russia and Putin on the behalf of Alaska because Russia was just across the water. Article I Section 10 of the United States Constitution specifically forbids states from from entering into “agreements or compacts” with foreign powers. The question that occurs to me is: Did Sarah Palin violate the United States Constitution, as the chief executive officer of the state of Alaska, or is she just talking big to try to sound like she has done more than she has really done?
